I hate to say I was a little disappointed by the experience at Suraya. I came with a friend for dinner on Sunday at 5:15pm. Our waiter was super helpful with allergies and recommendations but slowly became less attentive as the restaurant got busier towards 6:30/7. The food was okay overall. I didn't love the pita bread served with the hummus especially since it wasn't warm when it came out. The spices on the Kawarma lamb dish did not pair well with the meat; however, the meat was very tender. I did love the restaurant's ambiance and would consider coming back to sit outside in their garden.

It's a great experience. Delicious food, great prices and great service with very friendly staff. I think, the best place for a quick bit or a long dinner in Philadelphia, whether with friends of family. However, the menu is not that rich in choices. I tried the mixed Lebanese plate composed of meat chicken falafel and Kafta with hummus garlic sauce and salad. Honestly the quantity was so good and also the quality, you can barely finish your plate.

What a great place. Our server, Bela, was personable, knowledgeable, and attentive without hovering. As first-timers, she gave us excellent suggestions. The food is fresh, interesting, and flavorful. Definitely make reservations to sit in the garden. Beautiful trees and plantings. We'll definitely be back

My 5-star update was long due. We went for desserts only and obviously got the "Kunafe for two". My husband also got some Arak to go with the Kunafe. I love Kunafe and have had it pretty much everywhere I can find it. This had to be one of the best, if not the best, I have ever had. The top was crispy and super flaky and the cheese inside was very melty - not chewy at all. The presentation was absolutely to die for, I loved the addition of pistachios and rose petals. They served it with rose syrup and poured some of it while leaving the rest for us to decide if we wanted it more sweet. I love tiny details like this! The server was super friendly and extremely nice to us. On top of that, they gave us complimentary bites AND took a ton of pictures for us which made the entire experience so wholesome.

This place gets a 10/10 from me. I love how intimate and inviting the space is, the interior decor of the restaurant is beautiful. They have an outdoor garden/patio that was perfect for a date night! We started with the Samke Nayyeh and it was literally melting in the mouth. The yellowtail was sliced to perfection, and the homemade pita bread was the icing on top. We also ordered the Batata Harra - the potatoes were somehow still perfectly crispy even while smothered in sauce. For the mains, we ordered the Kafta Kebab and the Kawarma. The kebab came with hummus and grilled veggies, which was a nice surprise. The beef was cooked to perfection. The Kawarma was also amazing, the lamb was so tender and the perfect portion. The flavors between the lamb, yogurt, and pomegranate sauce was unmatched. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area, the service is great & the food was to die for! It is on the pricier side but worth every penny.

We did the $42/person lunch which featured 5 different sauces to have with warm pita and a main entree - we tried the branzino (we got an alternate version without tree nuts and enjoyed it a lot more - fresher, pesto-chimichurri sauce, with lots of lemon), chicken and beef kebabs. The chicken was succulent and perfectly crisp/grilled and the branzino was so soft and well seasoned; paired nicely with the rice. We ate in the outdoor garden which was so stunning and relaxing - would highly recommend getting a Resy for the garden, as the weather is warming up and for pictures!

I'm possibly Suraya's #1 fan, and I'm now reviewing brunch. It was fantastic and I'm already planning to go back again! I tried so hard not to get full on the dips, but how could I not when they are so delicious. The shakshuka was a delight, as was the branzino. I loved the olive oil cake, and my only regret was not getting the pastry basket. (This is why we have to come back for brunch very soon!!) Thank you for another fabulous meal!

Yes you need to go here. Yes you need to get the fatoush salad. Yes you need to get the sumac fries. I sat at the bar when I dined in because there was no wait and I was solo and got the perfect cozy corner. The bartenders were super attentive even tho I wasn't drinking, which is often NOT the case when you sit at a bar. The fries were some of the best I've ever had and the garlic dip was complex, creamy and tangy. A great compliment to the sumac. The salad was absolutely divine! The pomegranate was a nice burst of sweetness and the fresh baked pita really added a level of crunch and texture. I would order this same meal Over and over again.

Suraya is a popular Mediterranean restaurant, and it's easy to see why. We went for Saturday brunch and were blown away by everything: the decor, the large space, the service, and, of course, the food. The brunch is a set price of $42 per guest, featuring pre-chosen shared cold mezzes and dips, with unlimited pita--definitely ask for more! Every bite was delicious, with my favorites being the Taboulé and the Labneh. Each person then chooses a main entree. I had the Shakshuka, which was good but had an unexpected Indian curry spices flavor that, although tasty, left me slightly disappointed as I wasn't imagining having that flavor profile. My husband's Kafta Kebab, however, was the star: a delicious beef skewer with hummus and charred veggies that was incredible when paired with pita. We were too full for dessert, but the pastry case at the entrance was truly a thing of beauty, with each pastry intricately made and decorated. I'll definitely return when I'm back in Philly. Until then, please visit in my honor. I highly recommend Suraya! Oh, and PS: get the Rose Water Lemonade. It's delish!
